ATTENTION
Kids Program Effective October 1, 2007
This program will be set up for kids from newborns to 17 years old. If you currently have an account with Jayhawk Federal Credit Union, please contact us to verify you are on our kid’s club mailing list. Your money will automatically rollover to the age specific tier share account, for which you qualify, leaving the required $5.00 balance in your membership share account. If you do not currently have an account, please contact us to set up an account.
The tier share accounts are as follows:
- Baby Hawk for members 0-12 months old
- Little Hawk for members 1-4 years old
- Junior Hawk for members 5-12 years old
- Teen Hawk for members 13-17 years old
The guidelines for opening an account are as follows:
- Must have a basic $5.00 membership share account
- Must have a parent/guardian signed as a joint owner on the account
- Must open the tier account with a minimum of $5.00
The benefits of the kid’s share accounts are as follows:
- You will receive a savings register with a cover
- You will receive a coin book to save money
- You will earn dividends on any balance of $50.00 or more
- You will receive your dividends monthly
- Fingerprint ID kits
- You will be enrolled in our birthday club
- You will receive a birthday card from the credit union
- If you bring in a deposit during your birthday month you will be entered into a drawing to win a $25.00 deposit to your account
- All monthly birthday cards will be mailed on the same day (i.e. January birthday cards will be mailed on the last working day of the previous month)
- The prize drawing will be held on the first Wednesday of the month following your birthday.
- Winners will be notified by phone
- You will be notified of giveaways for deposit months
- You will be notified via the website or your quarterly newsletter
- You must bring in a minimum $5.00 deposit during the month of the quarterly savings notification and you will receive a prize for your age group
- You will be able to deposit money into a Youth CD with a minimum deposit of $100.00 for 90 day term
- A kids link on our website
- Access to fun and educational sites through our kids link
- Contests to be held throughout the year to win deposits to your account
- Coloring contests twice a year for the Little Hawks and Junior Hawks account holders coinciding with the holiday of our choice.
- We will provide a theme appropriate picture for the contest so everyone is coloring the same picture.
- You may pick up the picture at the credit union of print if off via our website
- The picture must be submitted by the last day of the month for judging
- Judging will be open for two weeks following the deadline
- Our members will vote for each category when they visit the credit union or vote online
- Winners will be contacted by the 15th of the following month
- The winner in each category will receive a $10.00 deposit to their account
- The winning entry will be displayed in the credit union office and on our website until the next contest
- Essay contests twice a year for the Teen Hawk account holders coinciding with the holiday of our choice.
- A topic for the essay will be provided to each child to coincide with the holiday theme.
- You may contact the credit union or visit our website to receive the topic for the essay
- The essays must be a minimum of 50 words
- The essays must be hand written and legible
- The essays must be submitted by the last day of the month
- The essays will be judged by one of the credit union officials and staff
- Winners will be contacted by the 15th of the following month
- The winner will receive a $10.00 deposit to their account
- Two winners will be selected
- The winning entries will be displayed in the credit union office and on our website until the next contest
- Quarterly newsletters
- An annual theme party to be determined upon feedback
Teen Hawk Checking accounts have the following benefits:
- No minimum balance to maintain in their account
- First box of basic checks are free
- No Monthly service charge
- Must have a parent/guardian signed on the account
- Waive the $5.00 check card fee once the account has been established for 3 months without any NSF’s and parent’s permission.
